November 3, 2008 Chapter 1 Blog: Rosaleen
I went into the city to register to vote with Lily by my side, when three men at the gas station were bothering me. I was protecting myself by pouring snuff juice on their shoes, when a policeman, named Shoe, came and let these men assault me. After this happened Shoe arrested Lily and I for theft, assault, and disturbing the peace. He told Lily that he would call her Father, T-Ray, and he would have to deal with her. I tried to make Lily feel better about the situation, while we were sitting in the back of the police car.
--OEE Chapter 2 in Rosaleen's eyes -- 11/4/08 Just a little while ago I was falsely charged with assault when two men at a gas station started bothering Lily and I. I was just defending myself. A police officer named Shoe arrived on the scene and arrested Lily and me. Shoe then let the two men hurt me. After this assault, Shoe put us in his police car. I comforted Lily the entire time we were in his car until the time we were in the jail together. When T-Ray finally arrived at the police station, he bailed Lily out. I could not believe he was leaving me here! After all I had done for him! I guess I will just sit here and hope that I am not killed.

Chapter 3 Blog:
What was a young girl doing in my store on a Sunday? Should she not be at church? The girl looked around the age of 14, and looked exhausted. It was as if she had just walked for days with out rest. I noticed how I had never seen her before. She bought two lunches and two coca colas. How strange seeing as how she was so thin. I was surprised when she came back up to the counter, and her hands were full of food from the isles. She ought to know that she was not allowed to buy food on Sunday from the isles. When she told me she was Rose Campbellās granddaughter, I was confused as to why Rose was not there with her. It was only to my attention that Rose had grand sons not grand daughters. I guess we learn new things every day! The girl seemed to very intrigued by the Black Madonna honey jars. Her eyes even lit up at the sight of them. I have never seen anyone really even look at the sweet smelling honey. I told her where August Boatwright lived, and the girl left with her lunches.

November 5, 2008 Chapter 4 Blog:
What is this crazy girl doing? Is Lily seriously going to lie to these strangers? Even in their own home! Their magnifigant home. They must be rich because I have never seen a house like this. Velvet stools and beautiful organdy curtains. What attracted most of my attention was the statue in the corner of the room by the door. A black mary. Who would have thought. I now have a new job working with August and Zach making the honey and doing house chores, and a new tiny room to share with Lily. Great. I hope Lily can keep her little secret going... Actually I hope I can keep Lily's secret.

Chapter 5 Blog 11-8-08
Tonight my sister August and I sat on our porch talking. We were talking about Lily and Rosaleen. I don't like them staying in my house. Well, I don't mind Rosaleen all too much, it is just Lily. I can sense her lying. I do not understand why on earth August and May put up with them. Especially because Lily is white. I do not want no white girl in my house. To make it even worse, the white girl is a liar. Nope I do not like her.

Chapter 7 Blog: 11-11-08 All seeing Narrator
Lily and Zach met today. Lily first saw him when he was singing to jars of honey. They seemed to have hit it off quite well. He showed her his car, and she wanted to learn to drive it. They were talking about what they wanted to be when they grow up. Lily told him that she was an orphan. Rosaleen has begun to question Lily, I think that she wants her to tell the truth to August. June was hinting at Lily leaving, and Lily had to change a bit of her lie because suddenly she knew her aunts last name. August told Lily that they needed to talk but Lily went to clean the kitchen. Another day Zach and Lily went for a car ride to some hives and Lily had some sort of break down. At first she was shaking, and then she began to laugh hysterically. Once they were there Zach showed Lily purple honey. When they were headed back Lily began to sob. Now Rosaleen is moving in with May and leaving Lily alone in the honey house. Later on Zach gave Lily a notebook to write in, she carried it everywhere. I think that Zach and Lily will become very close, but Lily needs to tell the truth to everyone.

Chapter 8 Blog: 11/11/08
Lily and I were talking on the porch today, putting labels on honey. We talked about love, and what we loved. I found many things I had in common with Lily. Lily and I both love peanuts in our coke and the color blue. Lily brought up the Black Madonna and we talked about her for awhile too. For awhile we talked about the bees, the bees need love too. On the porched I knew Lily and I need to talk. She looked dizzy and confused after I was talking about the bees. She is suffering, and she will not talk about it. Lily is hiding something important, she does not realize lying will make it worse. I will get to the bottom of this, and help Lily.

Chapter 9 Blog: 11/12/08
Today it was really hot outside, and I taught Lily that to be a good beekeeper you need to love to do it. After we ate lunch, Lily and I went outside to hear what the laughing was about. Rosaleen and May were going crazy with the water sprinkler, and we joined in playfully. June even came out, and Lily hosed her, which no one thought would go over well with June, but surprisingly she started laughing and even hugged Lily. Hopefully June is accepting Lily into the family more than before, because Lily is in need. I can tell she is hiding something, but I am too shocked about May's reaction to Zach going to jail to figure it out. I will find out what's wrong, though, because Lily seems more in need then ever.

Chapter 10 Blog: 11/13/08
As i was yelling Mays name over and over my heart was beating in side my, all these emotions stirring inside now knowing what to think. I ran for the river then I stoped, and my whole body sank as far as it would go. I saw May spread out on the river bed spread out with a rock on top of her. I never thought it would go this far, i knew we should of never let her go to the wall. The way i was feeling inside was the most horible feeling ever, now she is dead and a part of me is missing. Suddenly Rosaleen, Lily, and June came over and experienced this tragic day. If only she didnt answer the phone, what would have happened then. Our family will never be the same again.

Chapter 11 Blog: 11/13/08
After we buried May's body, I shut down the honey making, selling, and bee patrol. I mostly stayed in my room, and when I left I went to the woods alone. I knew that Lily had something important to tell me, but I decided to make her wait. I was in mourning, and I did not want to be disturbed while I remembered my sister. After a while, I decided to do something that would cheer everyone up, but mostly Lily. I made a dessert of cokes and peanuts. After the cokes, we all said Hail Marys for the first time since May had died. Everyone was cheered up, and then Neil asked June to marry him. June said yes, and I was overjoyed! After all the bad things that happen, there are always more good things to come.

August Boatwright:
I walked into my room to see Lily sitting on the ceder chest at the foot of my bed. She asked if I remembered when I told her we should talk. I closed the door to my room and told her I remembered very well. She pulled a picture if her mother, Deborah Fontanl Owens, out of her pocket and showed it to me.I told her that I knew her mother and that i used to work as a houskeeper in her house.Lily wanted to know everything about her mother. I told Lily everything about Deborah, how she loved peanutbutter, about her imaginary friend Tica Tee, about her and T. Ray and finaly about how she bacame depressed and left. When i got to the part about her leaving Lily said that she hated her mother. I was shocked by this statment. When I told Lily more about the situation she began to uderstand better and I could tell that she felt sorry for her mother. I told her that there was nothing perfect, there was only life and with that we went to bed. AC
11/18/08 Chapter 13 Blog
August Boatwright:
I knocked on the door to the honey house, anxious to show Lily what I had found. I was suprised when she didn't come to greet me at the door. She seemed sad and frustrated about something. Once I plopped down on the bed, I decided to tell Lily what I had found. EarIier that morning I found a box filled with items that Lily's mother had left at our house. I pulled out the compact mirror and told Lily that this and all of the other remains in the box belonged to her mother. She acted as if she didn't care much about what I was showing her, but I could tell she was trying to hide her excitment. Next, I showed her a brush that belonged to her mother. This time Lily couldn't fight the temptation, she ripped the brush out of my hand and examined it curiously. She was so excited once she found a strand of her mother's hair in the brush. I proceeded to show her the other items from her mother; a golden pin shaped like a whale, a poetry book, and finally a picture of Lily and her mother. Above all I could tell that the picture was Lily's favorite item. My heart was filled with joy once I knew that Lily apprieciated the items from her mother. Lily closed her eyes to take everything in and I silently left the room and headed for the house.

Chapter 14 11-17-08
T-Ray- I came to the house to get Lily because i havent seen her all summer and i wanted her back to help me work. When i got their she looked so much like my wife and she was wearing the pin. Turns out she had been with Deborah's old nanny named August and with her sisters. She didnt want to leave and i kept seeing Deborah inside of her so i slapped Lily. I kept remembering the time when Deborah had left me and i took the anger out on Lily. Then i tried to take her away but all of these african american ladies stopped me so i just got in the pick up truck and slowly backed away. Suprisingly, Lily ran after me to ask me if she killed her mother. I said yes but not on purpose. After that I turned around and drove away, realizing that i actually loved Lily.
